HARVEY AUTO Co. 443 WATER STREET TELEPHONE 450 MANISTEE, MICHIGAN
June 20 1946.
Albert Einstein Princeton, N.J.
Dear Mr. Einstein: -
Your friend was right. I do wish to help because your appeal, and articles such as Urey's in COLLIERS, make the actions of our politicians seem stupid and reprehensible.
My check for all I can afford is enclosed. However last night at a Kiwanis meeting your letter and wire were read and a donation of $100 was voted. Now, unless the directors fail to approve of this, which is a possibility, your Committee can expect a check within a couple of weeks from our local Club.
I assume that all the publicity in regard the urgency with which you scientists consider the new situation, now that the atomic age is upon us, is welcome so I will do what I can in that direction too.
Cordially yours,
John W. Harvey Jr (signature) JOHN W. HARVEY, JR. MANISTEE, MICHIGAN
