You are absolutely right in your philosophy that it is of vital importance that all of our people understand the implications of the new atomic energies if our civilization is going to avoid the very serious risk of largely destroying itself.

P.S. It occurs to me that your campaign would be more effective if you would leave the union printers' label off your stationery and literature. Only a portion of the people in this country who belong to unions do so voluntarily and of course even the total union membership represents only a small proportion of the population.
I also believe your position would be much stronger if you deleted your criticism of the use of the two atomic bombs by our country. I frankly don't know whether we were wise or unwise to use them, but when your committee includes that in your literature, you violate your pledge that "the committee does not propose to make governmental policy".
