Mr. Albert Einstein Princeton, New Jersey
Dear Sir: My heartiest congratulations on your sixty-eighth birthday and best wishes for many more years of activity and progress. As an ex-soldier who was spared an invasion by the quick Japanese surrender after use of the atom bombs, I would like to make this small contribution to the Emergency Committee to help spread knowledge of the uses and potentials of this dangerous new source of energy.
Respectfully yours, Wendell E. Godwin
