Technion Journal
A YEARBOOK [illegible] advancement of technological training and research in Palestine and the Near East. Nassau Street, New York 7, N.Y. WOrth 2-2862
June 20, 1946
Professor Albert Einstein 112 Mercer Street Princeton, N.J.
Dear Professor Einstein:
Under separate cover I was pleased to send you a copy of our new Yearbook and I hope it has reached you by now.
My attention was drawn to the fact that there might be an error in the ecuation immediately preceding the words "II. After the absorption" etc. that equation should have read:
Mv + E/C**2 . v
instead of:
Mv + E/C**2 . I
as it appeared in the manuscript and in the corrected proof I received from you. Ar, this observation came from two of our members who have a very fine reputation as mathematicians, you may find that it has some merit.
Should you decide that this correction is essential, it could be made on all the reprints of the article which will go out to a considerable number of scientists and scientific publications and we could probably also insert it in the Journal itself, for the mailing of the publication has hardly begun. If you have any particular persons in mind to whom the article and Yearbook should be mailed, we would be only too glad to comply with your wishes.
May I draw your attention to the fact that one of the advertisers in the Yearbook devoted a full page to a rerpint of your appeal on behalf of the Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists (page 135). I know a considerable number of people, some of them members of our Society, who would be willing to support this cause, I believe. If you would be kind enough to have the person in charge of fund-raising for the Emergency Committee get in touch with me, I would be glad to help out in this work.
sincerely yours, Judah Wattenberg
