Dear Mr. Einstein:

    I am writing this for my mother in answer to your letter of the 11th, which moved both of us deeply.  Enclosed is a contribution of $5.00.  We admire your courage, and sympathize strongly with the work of you and your committee; it is a matter of deep regret that we are unable to do more.
