Dear Friend:
Thank you for your letter appealing for money. I enclose one dollar in cash.
Why doesn't your Committee demand that manufacture of atomic bombs shall cease. Why don't you scientists stop working on atomic bombs?!
I was a conscientious objector during the war. I believe that conscience is the only defense against war. As a conscientious objector I was an unpaid worker in a selective service slave camp. Hence I cannot offer you much money.
Besides, I feel that refusal to make and to operate war machines is the best weapon. Evidently military government thinks so, because conscience
