Description
Sylvia Moore came to OSU as a faculty member in physical education in 1966. She coached the gymnastics team from 1967 to 1975 and served as director of women’s athletics from 1975-1977 and 1980-1982. After the men’s and women’s intercollegiate athletics programs merged, Moore served as deputy athletic director from 1983 to 1985. When Dee Andros stepped down as athletic director in 1985, Moore was named interim director of intercollegiate athletics – the first woman to have held that post at OSU.
