Abstract

The Gustav Wilhelm Hult Papers pertain predominantly to Hult's family and to the Havasupai Indian Reservation, Arizona. Hult immigrated to the United States from Sweden in 1901 and earned a forestry degree from Oregon Agricultural College in 1916.

Scope and Content Notes

This collection includes a Hult Family Tree (dated 1953); correspondece received by Gustaf Hult from his uncle, Lars Victor Hult; and a typed manuscript by Gustaf Hult on the Havusupai Indian Reservation, Arizona and accompanying photographs (13 b&w prints).

Biographical / Historical Notes

Gustaf Wilhelm Hult was born 23 May 1882 in Filipstad, Sweden. He immigrated to the United States (San Francisco?) in 1901. He attended Oregon Agricultural College from 1912/1913 through 1915/1916 and graduated with a Forestry degree in 1916. He was employed by the U.S. Forest Service until his retirement when he became a consulting forester. He died in Corvallis after 1954.
