Abstract

The Graham & Wells Photographs consist of photo postcards prepared for and sold by the Graham & Wells Drugstore in Corvallis. The photographs depict a variety of events and scenes from the OAC campus and Corvallis community.

Scope and Content Notes

The collection consists of two series: Itemized Photographs and Non-Itemized Photographs.

The Itemized Photographs are comprised of images believed to have been accessioned, at least in part, in May 1964 from K. Taylor. These 92 images have been inventoried and consist of depictions of a variety of campus and community events and landmarks. Included are images of military activities, athletic events, campus social groups and OAC buildings.

The Non-Itemized Photographs were accessioned from the Benton County Historical Society and Museum in September 2000. The accession, consisting of 207 images in total, has been loosely arranged by theme into five subject areas: Sporting Events; OAC Cadets and Inspection Parades; Campus and Corvallis Buildings; Non-Athletic Campus Events; and General.

The Graham and Wells Drugstore was located on Second St. and Jefferson Ave. in Corvallis.
