The Sigurd Peterson collection contains many items from his time at the University of Minnesota including a commencement program, a student handbook, and a manuscript of his oration "Modern Feudalism." Also included in the collection are records of his time serving as a faculty member at Oregon Agricultural College, including correspondence and documentation of his appointment as head of the English Department.
Correspondence and other records pertaining to the Sigma Nu fraternity chapter at OAC are also held. Of particular interest is a newsletter article honoring Peterson's life and service to the fraternity.
The collection also contains editorials written by Peterson and published in many papers and journals including the First National Bank Statement, The Balance Sheet, the Daily Barometer, and the Oregon State Technical Record. Personal materials are also housed in the collection and include Christmas cards, correspondence, and "Friendly Letters" - copies of letters authored by Peterson's Sigma Nu brothers and reprinted by Peterson on his basement printing press during World War II.
