The William M. Lunch Papers document the career of Bill Lunch as a faculty member in political science at Oregon State University and a political analyst for Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB). The collection includes correspondence, videotapes, newspaper clippings, notes, and transcripts documenting Lunch's regular appearances as a political analyst and commentator on OPB television programming. The transcripts of Lunch's commentaries address a wide range of national and state political issues such as taxes, physician-assisted suicide, education spending, the Oregon Legislature, presidential elections, the Oregon Citizens Alliance, health care, and environmental protection.
The papers also include materials for courses taught by Lunch and include course outlines, syllabi, and quiz blanks.
The video recordings consist of 47 VHS videotapes and 2 DVDs; these include recordings of Lunch's commentaries on the Seven Days television program as well as documentaries and presentations used as instructional tools by Lunch in his courses. The topics addressed in these videos include salmon restoration, political campaign commercials, Celilo Falls, impact of the Hanford nuclear reactor, the Endangered Species Act, science in Nazi Germany, forest management, and urban planning.

Acquisition Note: The materials were donated to the University Archives by Lunch in 2011.
