Abstract

The Joshua Robert Akers Photograph Collection consists of ten black and white prints of group portrait shots (both formal and informal) of Oregon Agricultural College (OAC) students, all of which feature student Joshua Robert Akers. Three of the images depict Akers with the OAC Cadet Band and another shows him with the members of the Arcadia Club.

Scope and Content Notes

A photograph donated by Murray Akers of the OAC Cadet Band that was described in an earlier accession (2002:036) is now described as a part of P 244. The photo is a panoramic black and white print of the OAC Band at the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco, California. Murray Akers is the son of Joshua R. Akers.

Biographical / Historical Notes

Joshua Robert Akers studied agriculture at OAC and graduated in 1918. He played french horn for the OAC Cadet Band.
