The collection contains materials generated by the OSU Student Health Services department. It includes the medical excuse policy for Student Health Services, as well as policies and procedures for waste disposal, student workers, HIV and Hepatitis B, and other reportable diseases. Guidelines for medical treatment, handling equipment, and management of patient information are also included. Meeting minutes for the nursing and medical aide staff are also contained in the collection, as are other materials generated by SHS such as annual reports, newsletters and budget information. E-mails sent to all student and faculty regarding national medical issues such as the SARS outbreak and shortages of flu vaccines are also contained within the collection.
Accession 1998:001 includes the Student Health Services medical excuses policy.
Accession 1998:050 includes policies and procedures of Student Health Services pertaining to safety and emergencies; the Hepatitis B virus and HIV (or AIDS); reportable disease; student workers; medical records; waste disposal; professional staff; and other issues regarding health services for OSU students.
Accession 2000:001 includes a flyer sent by e-mail to various OSU managers, advisors, and department heads about opportunities for student volunteering and internships with the Peer Health Advocates program.
Accession 2003:001 includes an e-mailed announcement from the Director of Student Health Services linking to a report posted on the OSU webpage regarding the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) virus and the university's response.
Accession 2004:001 includes a degree list with information on those who were awarded a degree for the 2003-04 academic year and announcements e-mailed to OSU employees on various listservs pertaining to guidelines for release of student records and distribution of printed copies of the general catalog.
Accession 2004:021 includes written guidelines and procedures used by Student Health Services staff in the application of medical treatments, handling of equipment, and the management of patient information. Many of these statements contain handwritten notations of policy revisions and updates.
Accession 2005:001 includes a degree list with information on those who were awarded a degree for the 2004-05 academic year.
Accession 2006:063 includes minutes of Student Health Services (SHS) nursing and medical aide staff meetings and includes agendas, memoranda, forms, procedure statements, checklists, and problem solving tracking sheets. A copy of the master policy and procedure manual for SHS was also included in this transfer.
Accession 2008:027 includes materials generated by the office of Student Health Services (SHS) and includes annual reports, correspondence, meeting minutes, newsletters, policies/procedures, and budget information. The minutes document meetings conducted by various SHS committees such as the Occupational Health Committee, Quality Assurance Committee, and the Lab and X-Ray Committee. Procedures, correspondence, regulations, and other information relating to radiation safety also were found in this transfer.
Accession 2010:069 includes policy/procedure statements, minutes from the Reach- Out/Promotions Committee, and a reference guide used by Student Health Services staff to dispense information over the phone. The guidelines and procedures outlined in the statements were used by Student Health Services staff in the application of medical treatments, handling of equipment, and the management of patient information. Many of these statements contain handwritten notations of policy revisions and updates. The reference guide, "Pediatric Telephone Advice," also contains notations made by staff.
Accession 2014:106 consists of policy and procedure guidelines used by Student Health Services staff in the application of medical treatments, screening of students for conditions such as TB, handling of equipment, following of communication protocols, and the management of patient information. Many of these statements contain handwritten notations of policy revisions and updates. Also included in this transfer are two reference guides used by Student Health Services staff to dispense information over the phone. One of the guides is designed to manage a general range of health issues while the other is specifically oriented toward obstetrics/gynecology questions.
