The Dale Moss Papers consist of addresses and speeches, article reprints, correspondence, photographs, publications, and a narrative report created or collected by Moss, a former Crop Sciences professor at OSU.

Scope and Content Notes

The collection includes records pertaining to Moss's involvement on the American Wheat Studies Delegation and its trip to the People's Republic of China in 1977. The photographic images, consisting primarily of color slides (977) and one color print, depict the construction of the Crop Sciences Building in 1980, acid rain research, OSU Crop Science department facilities and faculty, research at Pilcher Farm, and various unidentified research projects conducted at Cornell University, the University of Minnesota, and OSU. Included are images of Crop Science Professor Floyd Bolton, an American Wheat Studies Delegation to China, and Dale Moss giving a tour of a campus building to fellow OSU faculty members Warren Kronstad, Wil Post, Jack Davis, and Cliff Trow. Crop Science Professor Emeritus Arnold Appleby assisted in the identification of some of the OSU faculty members in these photographs.

Biographical / Historical Notes

Born in Thornton, Idaho in 1930, Dale Moss came to OSU in 1977 to fill the post of Crop Science Department Head. He became Professor Emeritus in 1995.
