This collection includes three sets of reports that document three separate tours, of which there are itineraries for two. In his narratives, Hill describes the airline flights, encounters with former students, food consumed on the trip, tours of agricultural research centers abroad, local customs and festivals observed, and historic sites visited.
The memoir was written in the last year of Hill's life - the collection's drafts were found with a clipping (an obituary), and a poem and eulogy read at Hill's funeral service. A shorter, edited version of one of the drafts that was copied by friend Glenna Carter is also included in the collection.
The collection also includes two graduate diplomas conferred to Professor Hill. One is a Master's of Science degree from Kansas State Agricultural College dated 1927, and the other is a Doctorate from Cornell University dated 1936.
