The Effie L. Wagner Scrapbook documents the 1928 Women's Debate Tour of several colleges and universities in the western United States. Three members of the Oregon Agricultural College (OAC) varsity women's debate squad (Effie Wagner, Dorothy E. Williams, and Helen B. Woodward) travelled to five campuses over a three-week period. Effie L. Wagner, graduated from OAC in 1928 with a degree in vocational education; she was manager of the women's debate squad.

Willibald Weniger Papers

Willibald Weniger Papers, 1880-1955

Willibald Weniger began his career at Oregon Agricultural College in 1908 as the founding head of the Physics Department. He left the College in 1914 but returned to the position in 1920. In 1933 he became Assistant Dean of the Graduate Division of physics, and later Associate Dean and Dean. The Willibald Weniger Papers include Weniger's dissertation on infrared absorption spectra, reports of a 1938 professional trip to Europe and a 1955 University of Alaska yearbook.

The Weniger Photographic Collection consists predominately of a photograph album of images taken and/or collected by Willibald Weniger. Weniger was a professor of physics at Oregon Agricultural College from 1908 to 1914 and again from 1920 until his retirement in 1951.

Willamette Valley Sketch Map, 1851

The Willamette Valley Sketch Map depicts purchases and reservations made by the Board of Commissioners with Native Americans in Oregon. The map was prepared by George Gibbs and Edmond A. Starling. Gibbs was a geologist and ethnologist who participated in treaty negotiations between the U.S. Government and native tribes. This collection consists of three reproductions of the original map, which is held in the National Archives.

William Appleman Williams Papers, 1877-2012

William Appleman Williams (1921-1990), an influential American historian and writer, was a member of the History faculty at Oregon State University from 1968-1986. He is regarded to be a founder of the "revisionist school" of American diplomatic history. A prolific author, Williams's The Contours of American History (1961), was named, by the Modern Library, one of the 100 best non-fiction books written in English in the twentieth century. The Williams Papers consist of correspondence, newspaper clippings, books, photographs and memorabilia.

Wilson Room Collection, 1493, 1592-1908

The Wilson Room Collection holds an assortment of literature, historical texts, artifacts, and antiques from Britain's 18th and 19th centuries. Norman and Glenville Wilson spent many years travelling in Britain and indulging their mutual interest in British history. Norman joined the Oregon State University faculty in 1947, teaching English composition and literature until his retirement in 1968. Glenville worked for the USDA Forest Service office in Corvallis for 20 years. Their donation to the library provides an important resource for scholars interested in Georgian and Victorian history.

The Dean of Women's Office was established at Oregon Agricultural College in 1911 and was charged with the general welfare of the college's female students. In 1969 the Dean of Women's title was changed to Assistant Dean of Students.
