Facilities Services Records, 1888-2003

The Facilities Services Records document the physical campus of Oregon State University in Corvallis as well as OSU facilities throughout the state of Oregon beginning with construction of the first building on the current campus in 1888. The records consist predominantly of architectural drawings and files for the design, construction, and modification to structures.

Paul Lawrence Farber Papers, 1910-2011

Paul Lawrence Farber (b. 1944) is a prolific and internationally known historian of science who has nurtured the study of scientific discovery from his post at Oregon State University for forty years. Dr. Farber has established himself as a world-class historian of science through his research into the naturalist tradition and evolutionary ethics, his extensive participation in the historical community including a term as President of the History of Science Society, and editor of the Journal of the History of Biology. The Paul Lawrence Farber Papers include correspondence, institutional records, teaching materials, typescripts, and reprints.

William L. Finley Papers, 1899-1946

The William L. Finley Papers document the wildlife conservation work of Finley and his wife Irene, and the photography work of Herman T. Bohlman, who worked with Finley in the first decade of the 20th century. Finley was a photographer, filmmaker, and author who wrote and lectured extensively on wildlife conservation issues. The collection includes published and unpublished manuscripts, lecture and field notes, reports, correspondence, photographs and motion picture films.

Foote was a faculty member in farm crops and administrator in the Agricultural Experiment Station from 1948 until his retirement in 1984.

The collection includes images of forests and landscapes in North America; timber management, harvesting, and processing; and College of Forestry students and faculty.

The images also depict various activities being conducted in the McDonald-Dunn and Blodgett Research Forests, identified and unidentified trees and forests, and aerial shots of multiple locations throughout Oregon.

The Horner Museum closed to the public in 1995 due to statewide budget cuts. The Friends of Horner Museum was organized to locate both a new facility for the collections and new resources for funding maintenance of the museum.
