Phi Delta Theta Fraternity - OSU Chapter Record Book, 1915

Scope and Content Note

The collection includes a record book written by members A. Johnson and Lyle Hendricks in the form of narrative essays and timelines. The record book describes membership, social events, house guest dinners, athletic contests, relations with other Greek groups, and the fraternity membership pledge. A typed transcript of the record book is also included.

An addition to the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity OSU Chapter Records (Accession 2014:061) consists of materials generated by the Kappa Sigma Nu Fraternity (KSN) that is made up of five issues of the "Star" newsletter, informational brochures, and a letter addressed to the national office of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. The brochures and letter were prepared by KSN members as a petition to establish a chapter of Phi Delta Theta at Oregon Agricultural College. Letters from other sources that document this petition process, pursued by the Kappa Sigma Nu Alumni Association, have been added to this accession. They were once described as a part of the OSU Special Collections and Archives' Memorabilia Collection. Also transferred from the Memorabilia Collection file is a warranty deed documenting a 1955 property transaction between the Kappa Sigmu Nu Association and B.D. and Bessie Lamar.
