Dear Mrs. Dorr:

I am sorry to say that there is no suitable opening at this Institute for Dr. Ernst Fried.

I understand that there is an Institute of International Education, 2 W. 45th Street, New York, N.Y. to which application may be made in cases of this sort and I suggest that you write to this Institute.

Sincerely yours,

Linus Pauling

Chairman of the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering
