William Lipscomb: We were analyzing smokes according to particle size because we were going to cloud
up Los Angeles so the Japanese couldn't find it to bomb it.
Thomas Hager: Was this the E-19 project that was-
William Lipscomb: I don't know the number. There was a project for covering [unintelligible]. We
don't have to do it now, the smog is already there. But I had to work out a machine
which Linus suggested which was already in the literature, and whether he saw it and
forgot nobody knows. But I built it and it was a machine for analyzing smokes according
to particle size.
