Informs her that he can not give her any helpful advice regarding her 14 year old daughter who is mentally ill, but that he hopes for progress in the understanding of mental disease from the molecular point of view. Says that he is sure that her abnormalities genetic and that there is no reason that Browning and her husband should feel responsible.   • Letter from LP to Professor E.U. Condon, Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics at the University of Colorado, RE: Returns the paper of Quantic Biophysics and de Broglie’s letter. Tells Condon that the paper is an original paper, but that he should not accept it, because the author does not describe her molecular orbit calculations and the significance of the values of the energy levels are not clear. Suggests that Condon tells the author to write up her work in greater detail and publish it in a French Journal.
