  • Handwritten letter from LP to Mr. Congdon, RE: LP thanks Congdon for showing he and AHP the Koenig house. LP is not sure about real estate values, but he and AHP feel that $60,000 is too much. LP is accordingly willing to make a definite offer of $50,000 cash. LP and AHP will be in town until May 2. LP gives Congdon his telephone number. At the bottom of the letter is a note indicating that Mr. Beeson said that good homes are $20 per 30 square feet, as well as LP's calculation of how the square footage of the Koenig house translates to dollars in accordance with this rule of thumb. • Letter from Gunnar Jahn to AHP and LP, RE: Thanks the Paulings for the days they spent with Jahn in December. Has signed the Resolution, which the Norwegian Wisps are going to deliver to the Prime Minister. Thinks the Resolution is good, but perhaps a bit too cautious. Found it right to join his countrymen in Norway and, therefore, has not signed the paper the Paulings sent him. According to what Jahn has heard, he doubts whether the question of transferring weapons to NATO will be discussed at the Hague in May. Expresses his fear at what might happen if NATO decided to give weapons to West Germany, and feels that nuclear weapons must not be given to NATO. Heard from Marie Lous Mohr that the Paulings are leaving for Mexico in May, and suspects that this means they will not be coming to the Hague.
