  • Letter from AHP to C. C. Wilson, RE: AHP couldn't possible run for President of the United States, as Wilson suggested, but she appreciates the thought. AHP agrees with the things Wilson said, but thinks that it is not helpful to go back and say what might have been. It is better to focus on what actually happened and to try to make an improvement in the future. AHP is working now on the demonstration in the Hague from May 12-14 against the spread of nuclear weapons, and particularly the giving of nuclear weapons to NATO. AHP does not think that it would be beneficial for women to start a separate political movement. AHP does not like to see separation of the sexes in politics, and believes that the world can only be improved by men and women going forward together. AHP agrees that women must take much more political action than they have in the past, but she believes that women are doing this. AHP thinks that women will play a much greater role in the future than they have in the past, and that we must, in this country, educate women and teach them that it is their duty to take an active part in the affairs of the world. • Letter from AHP to Olive Mayer, RE: AHP thinks that Mayer should ask Mr. Hilton whether or not he thinks a Latin American peace congress would be of value. The Latin American women are very eager to meet with the North American women. Also, Mayer should ask Mr. Hilton if it might be possible to allow Cuban women to come into the United States to attend such a congress. They should also try to get the UN to sponsor the congress.
