  • Letter from Virginia Durr to AHP, RE: Just got home from their wonderful trip to England. Above all, Durr enjoyed the feeling there of freedom of expression. Discusses their visits with the Bernals and with Canon Collins and his wife. Loved meeting Peter and his wife and kids. Peter said AHP and LP were giving up the house in Pasadena, and Durr supposes that their daughter is moving in. Durr hopes that the house stays in the family. All the peace people Durr met in England were thrilled over Linus getting the Nobel Prize. Durr liked Lyndon's speech yesterday was good and thinks that he is doing a good job so far. Discusses the tense situation in Alabama surrounding the civil rights movement and those people who are still trying to preserve segregation.
