  • Statement by LP, RE: LP describes his libel suit against the St. Louis Globe-Democrat Publishing Company in which the jury found for the defendant. LP acknowledges that he is not a lawyer, but would like to present his ideas in a hypothetical address to the jury, to show how he would have presented the plaintiff's case. The hypothetical address is attached, and describes why the publishing company should have been punished for falsely claiming in an article that LP had been cited for contempt of Congress. Attached to the statement is a note indicating that the statement was sent to Mr. Green, Mr. Matar in New York, Mr. Springer in Reno, and Eleanor Piel.
