Letter from Linus Pauling to Henri Levy. January 26, 1950

Pauling writes that he is declining the consultancy offer from the scientific program of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory because the lab is not requesting that Pauling be given security clearance in order to see the lab. He is attending a seminar on modern chemistry in the area in August because he had hoped to be able to see the lab and that the seminar would help him in the position of being a consultant. He ends by saying that his research on the way that polypeptide chains fold into globular proteins and on the nature of sick cell anemia is going well.  View Transcript
