Letter from Linus Pauling to A.A. Noyes and J.P. Buwalda. February 2, 1934.
Pauling requests that Noyes and Buwalda communicate a grant application to the Geological
Society of America in Pauling's name. He explains his desire to build an x-ray apparatus,
hire a research assistant, and determine the structures of various crystalline substances.
In closing, he offers to provide the GSA with a formal application if one is so desired. Transcript.
