Linus Pauling: I was working in immunology starting in the 1930s, and then I shifted over to the hereditary hemolytic anemias. And after ten years of that I shifted over to mental illness. And after ten years of that...I got interested in orthomolecular medicine, I guess. And then, after some time, this gradually led me into the field of cancer.
