An OAC graduate, F. E. "Earl" Price retired in 1965 after forty-three years of service to Oregon State University. During his tenure at OSU, Price first worked for the Cooperative Extension Service as a soils and irrigation specialist. In 1928 he became professor of agricultural engineering in the Department of Agricultural Engineering and, in the 1930s, was appointed dean in charge of agricultural instruction. In 1950 Price was again promoted to Dean of Agriculture and Director of the Agricultural Experiment Station and the Oregon State University Extension Service.
