Historical Note

The Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition of 1905, held in Portland, Oregon, was an event of international importance. Organized to celebrate the centennial of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, the exposition attracted both exhibits and visitors from around the world - over its four month run the event drew some 1.6 million attendees and featured displays from twenty-one countries.
