The Dennis Barstow Photographs consist of color slides taken by Barstow of oceanographic research conducted on Oregon State University research vessels. Dennis Barstow joined the Oregon State University Oceanography Department in 1962 as a research assistant. He served as a hydrographic technician on a number of research projects and retired in 1994.

Basques of Harney County, Oregon, Oral History Collection, 1976-2001

The Basques of Harney County, Oregon, Oral History Collection consists of transcripts and audiotapes of 15 oral history interviews conducted in 1976 and 1979 as part of an inventory of historic sites in Harney County. Basque sheepherders immigrated to southeastern Oregon from the 1890s through the 1920s and worked as itinerant herders on the mountain ranges of Harney County until the 1930s.

The Helen M. and Alan B. Berg Papers document their professional and civic activities at Oregon State University and in the City of Corvallis. Berg earned an MS in statistics from Oregon State and was Director of the Survey Research Center; Alan B. Berg earned a BS in forestry management from Oregon State and was a faculty member in forest science. Both served on the Corvallis City Council (Alan in 1973-1978 and Helen in 1991-1994) and as Mayor of Corvallis (Alan in 1979-1986 and Helen in 1995-2006).

Bluebird Habitat Research Records

Bluebird Habitat Research Records, 1975-2004

The Bluebird Habitat Research Records document the Bluebird Trail project of the Audubon Society of Corvallis to install and monitor bluebird nesting boxes in Corvallis and the surrounding area in an effort to reestablish local breeding populations. Elsie Eltzroth founded the program and was coordinator until 2008.

Bureau of Land Management Maps of Oregon, 1944-1993

The Bureau of Land Management Maps of Oregon consist of maps published by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for the public as guides for outdoor recreation and maps prepared by the BLM for management of forest lands, primarily in western Oregon. The Bureau of Land Management was formed in 1946 by the merger of the General Land Office and the United States Grazing Service. BLM lands in Oregon are primarily forest lands in western Oregon and grazing and range lands in eastern Oregon.

John C. Burtner Papers, 1926-1950

The John C. Burtner Papers document Burtner's roles as Director of the Oregon State College News Bureau and Extension Service Editor and include correspondence and related materials. Burtner graduated from Oregon Agricultural College in 1923 and returned to the College as a faculty member in Industrial Journalism the following year. He remained at Oregon State College as a writer, editor, and head of the College News Bureau until his death in 1950.
