Hugh E. Morrison Papers, 1937-1964

Scope and Content Note

The collection includes communications and reports developed by Morrison, other researchers, chemical companies and the U.S. Department of Agriculture regarding the methods and results employed in various research projects. The collection's material types also include brochures, correspondence, conference papers, newspaper clippings, research data, photographs, and a documentary film script.

The reports that make up most of the collection document research on a variety of insects including symphilids, red hop spiders, and cabbage maggots. Included with the research reports is an instructional notebook for a course in "Methods of Insect Investigations" (Entomology 816) which includes correspondence between Morrison and other entomologists about pesticide applicators. Abstracts of research papers collected by Morrison from Pacific Northwest Vegetable conferences are also found in this collection.
