Scope and Content Note

The collection includes newspaper clippings, photographs, certificates, correspondence, employment records, greeting cards, work reports, a scrapbook and publications. The materials document Moore's interaction with fellow Paleontologists in the U.S. as well as those in other countries, and pertain to her research, involvement in the peer review process, and the idenitification of fossilized specimens.

Also included among these materials is a book by Moore titled Fossil Shells from Western Oregon: A Guide to Identification.

The scrapbook, assembled by Moore's grandfather Charles Edwin Partridge, documents Moore's childhood growing up in Portland, Oregon and covers the years 1925 to 1938. Containing images of Moore and various family members and friends, the scrapbook also includes artistic renderings, certificates, correspondence, greeting cards, grade reports, and newspaper clippings. The photographs (loose and not in the scrapbook) depict Ellen throughout her life and various members of her family.
