Jean Mater Papers, 1967-2005

Biographical Information

Jean Mater (1916-2008) received a Ph.D. in Forest Products Chemistry from Oregon State College in 1955. She and her husband founded Mater Machine Works and later Mater Engineering, Ltd., in Corvallis, providing engineering and consultation services to the forest products industry. In 1996 Dr. Mater was chosen as the L.W. "Bill" Lane, Jr. Distinguished Lecturer in Family Business by Oregon State University. She also served on the OSU College of Business Advisory Council.
