Orville Kofoid Journals, 1942-1950

Scope and Content Note

The Orville Kofoid Journals consist of four journals created by Kofoid documenting primarily his work as a civil engineer. Many of the daily journal entries describe his consulting work on concrete strength analysis of bridges, warehouses, piers, and other structures in the Puget Sound and Portland areas. The journals also include details of his personal activities including lawn work, car maintenance, social engagements, and home construction projects. A newspaper clipping about his 1950 divorce from Geraldine H. Overhulse Kofoid is included in one of the journals.
