Facilities Services Records, 1888-2003

The Facilities Services Records document the physical campus of Oregon State University in Corvallis as well as OSU facilities throughout the state of Oregon beginning with construction of the first building on the current campus in 1888. The records consist predominantly of architectural drawings and files for the design, construction, and modification to structures.

Paul Lawrence Farber Papers, 1910-2011

Paul Lawrence Farber (b. 1944) is a prolific and internationally known historian of science who has nurtured the study of scientific discovery from his post at Oregon State University for forty years. Dr. Farber has established himself as a world-class historian of science through his research into the naturalist tradition and evolutionary ethics, his extensive participation in the historical community including a term as President of the History of Science Society, and editor of the Journal of the History of Biology. The Paul Lawrence Farber Papers include correspondence, institutional records, teaching materials, typescripts, and reprints.

In 1912, it combined with the Philadelphian Literary Societey (for men) to form the Mask and Dagger Club.

The Alton H. Finch Papers consist of a notebook of Materials Relating to the Achievements of Alumnus Alton H. Finch graduated from Oregon Agricultural College in 1925, was head of the University of Arizona Horticultur Department from 1937 to 1945, and conducted citrus fruit research.

The William L. Finley Papers document the wildlife conservation work of Finley and his wife Irene, and the photography work of Herman T. Bohlman, who worked with Finley in the first decade of the 20th century. Finley was a photographer, filmmaker, and author who wrote and lectured extensively on wildlife conservation issues. Forest Type Maps of Oregon, 1900 - circa 1995

The Forest Type Maps of Oregon document forest composition at the county, region, and statewide level in Oregon from 1900 to the mid-1950s. The maps were prepared by the U.S. Forest Service and the U.S. Geological Survey. The earliest maps (1900-1901) were published in color. The maps depict the type and quality of timber in a given area as well as non-forested and de-forested land.
