George H. Arscott Papers, 1950-1997

Scope and Content Note

Series I consists of article reprints, abstracts, and a list of all of Arscott's published materials. The conference papers in series II were presented by Arscott at Animal Science and Nutrition meetings and conferences. The publications document Arscott's research and consist primarily of circulars, bulletins, and newsletters from the OSU Agricultural Experiment Station and Extension Service. Also included in this series are materials from the Poultry Science Association 1987 annual conference (held at OSU) and the report A Historical Review of the Feed-Mixing Facility of the Department of Poultry Science.

The reports and studies are draft versions of poultry research later published as articles. This series also contains an essay on Professor James Dryden's induction into the Agricultural Hall of Fame. Series V consists of Arscott's Master's and Doctorate theses.

The research projects documented in series VI relate to Arscott's involvement as a volunteer researcher for the International Executive Service Corps (IESC) and ACDI-VOCA. This series includes correspondence, reports, and research notes and data. The newspaper clippings pertain to Arscott's involvement in poultry industry research in Latin America as a volunteer for the International Executive Service Corps (IESC).

An addition to the Arscott Papers (Accession 2003:065) consists of records generated and collected by Poultry Science Department Professor George Arscott. Consisting primarily of research reports and informational materials on international projects with which Arscott worked, this accession also includes correspondence and newspaper clippings. The correspondence relates to Arscott's attendance of an induction ceremony honoring Professor James Dryden on behalf of OSU.
